A standard consultation is 50 minutes including parent or carer feedback if requested.

Do I need a referral from school or a medical professional?

Whilst we welcome referrals from schools and medical professionals, a referral to our service is not required.

What are my payment options?

Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)

Eligible individuals can claim sessions through medicare once obtaining a MHCP (from your GP or paediatrician). This entitles you to a rebate of $93.35 for up to 10 individual psychology sessions per calendar year. Please note, these sessions can not be back dated, so your MHCP must be obtained before your first appointment to receive the rebate. As of March 2023, parents can now claim 2 parent sessions as part of their child's 10 medicare rebated sessions.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

We also offer services to clients who have access to National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding under either plan managed or self-managed funding. Please note, we are not an NDIS provider and therefore do not accept NDIA managed participants.

Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP)

Individuals with chronic medical conditions and complex care needs who are receiving treatment from their GP under a GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangements, can access Medicare rebates for specific allied health services (e.g. psychology, occupational therapy, speech pathology) when referred by their GP.

Helping Children With Autism (HCWA) and Better Start

Individuals diagnosed with a developmental disability such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) can access Medicare rebates for 4 diagnostic assessment sessions (prior to the age of 13) and up to 20 therapy sessions with allied health professionals until the age of 15 years (if diagnosed before 13). A child's eligibility for this scheme can be determined by a treating paediatrician or psychiatrist.

Private Health Insurance

Additionally, some health insurance agencies will provide partial cover for psychological services under their Extra packages. This can be confirmed by contacting your health care provider directly. We can not process your private health insurance rebates, but can provide an invoice for clients to claim back privately.

Do you bulk bill?

Unfortunately, we do not offer bulk billing. Payments for all services are due on the day of appointment.

What if I can't make my appointment?

We require at least 24 hours notice before cancelling or re-scheduling appointments. If, for some reason you need to cancel or post pone the appointment, please note that 25% of the scheduled fee will be charged where notice is provided less then 24 hours prior to the time of the appointment and 50% of the scheduled fee will be charged in a situation where there is a failure to attend the appointment without notice.

Can I still access services from home during COVID-19 lockdowns?

As of a result of the COVID pandemic, we have modified our services in order to continue supporting clients and their families remotely. We offer Telehealth services for all clients and phone consultations with parents and carers (where appropriate) through COVIU.
